At The Tallow House, ingredient integrity is at the core of everything we produce. We believe skincare should be approached with the same care and intentionality as food production. Our focus is on creating products using high quality agricultural ingredients that support nourishment, skin health, and long term product integrity. Almost all of our ingredients are produced on our farm or sourced through trusted local agricultural partners in South Carolina whenever possible.

Agricultural Sourcing

We prioritize sourcing ingredients as close to home as possible. When ingredients cannot be produced directly on our farm, we partner with local farmers and trusted suppliers who share our commitment to quality, transparency, and agricultural responsibility. Supporting local agriculture helps strengthen regional food and farming communities while allowing us to maintain closer oversight of ingredient quality.

We are a small scale farm production business rather than a mass manufacturing company.

This allows us to:

Continuous Ingredient Evaluation

Our team regularly reviews our product ingredients and sourcing methods. We continuously evaluate our inventory to determine if there are:

  • Cleaner ingredient alternatives
  • More authentic agricultural sourcing options
  • Higher quality or more pure production methods

If we find an ingredient that is more natural, more authentic, or of higher quality than what we currently use, we carefully evaluate whether it should replace existing sourcing methods. Our goal is continuous improvement in quality, purity, and agricultural authenticity.

Packaging Integrity

We prioritize natural and reusable packaging materials whenever possible, including glass containers. While some product safety or preservation requirements may require functional packaging materials, we continue exploring more sustainable packaging options as our business grows.
